RE: How to change the color depth.

I have a G4 and if I used Yaboot, I can only get 8bpp color
which is not acceptable. I have removed the novideo setting
from the yaboot.conf and tried that. If I change the defaultcolordepth
to 16, X crashes, if I change it to 24, the sync is way off and
things are overlapped...

I can get 24bpp is I use BootX with the novideo setting; However,
that causes my audio to crash. I have read that G4 users shouldnt
use Bootx, but I thought I would try that as well.

This was much easier on intel linux.

Anybody have any ideas/solutions?

Thanks,
Gary
