Subject: 3 Com Hub oddity

ok, there has to be something simple to make my network work. If i come
right off the DSL with a crossover into the uplink port on the hub, I
cannot get net with YDL 1.2.1. Mac side, works just fine. Run crossover
right to Mac skipping the hub, YDL 1.2.1 works fine, Mac still works fine,
but everything else isnt of course, since i had to bypass the hub.
What is going on in the hub that makes Linux choke, but is not causing a
problem with the Mac? Any cloos appreciated...
