i'm having 2 problems w/cs 1.2 right now, 1 of which i can hold off
on b/c its just something i'm screwing around w/...the other problem
is whenever i try to do the ./configure make make install i get this
error after doing ./configure
loading cache ./config.cache
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/instrall -c
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... no
checking for working aclocal... missing
checking for working autoconf... missing
checking for working automake... missing
checking for working autoheader... missing
checking for working makeinfo... missing
hcecking host system type... configure: error: cna not guess host
type: you must specify one
i'm trying to install gaim (the linux aol instant messenger program),
but the ./configure doesn't work on any of the things i try to
compile. if someone gives me directions back as to what exactly to
do to fix this, please be as detailed as possible. i just started
using linux and the only thing i've ever done w/it before is telnet
for debugging perl scripts.
thanx,
adam
