You may have downloaded the recent kernel, but are you actually running it?
'uname -a' to check.

iso9660 was compiled as a module for kernel-2.2.17-0.6.1. Try running
'depmod -a' followed by 'modprobe isofs' and then try to mount again and let
us know if that works...
