You'll be much happier with recent BenH kernels (and XF4 if you're brave ;).

respectively. Full acceleration, no artifacts, 24-bit color...

Definitely. You can get a decent "real" mouse for around $25, and if you
want to use Linux for any amount of time there's really no alternative.

Yup, that seems to be the problem: the kernel rpm erased your old modules
directory, but you're still using the old kernel. Please copy the new kernel
(check rpm -ql kernel for a pathname) to wherever it is you boot from.
