Subject: Kernel configuration details

What Would Be Nice(TM) is if Terrasoft, on their website or
somewhere, gave a PowerPC-centric description of every kernel
configuration option, i.e., if the option is even application
to, say, PowerBooks, and, if so what saying 'Y' buys you
(assuming it's not mandatory).
For example, should I compile in serial-port support
(CONFIG_SERIAL) for a PowerBook G3? It has no conventional
serial ports, just USB -- and USB is handled by other code
entirely; but, is the internal modem treated as a serial
device? It that handled by the CONFIG_MAC_SERIAL option?
Until the stock descriptions cover PowerMacs more fully, such a
list would Be Nice for those building our own kernels (without
LOTS of trial and error).
