I just want to know what the current screen resolution is. Is there
_anywhere_ I can look or any command I can issue that will give me this
information.

/etc/X11/XF86Config does in fact contain the screen possibilities and the
current setting from the last time I ran X, but this is not guaranteed to be
the current setting.
