Oh I can answer that ;) Dan used 2.2.17Pre-1 and all the later revisions of
the 2.2.17 tree are more or less broken in the Matrox FB or Sym35xxx drivers
(Well I worked with 2.4.0 for a while and I'm really upsed about all the
little details that were left over). The solution is to go back to 2.2.15
and patch it for the capabilities bit bug.
