Since I use AfterStep, I can't do a selection rectangle
ordinarily since button 1 in the root window is the menu;
hence, I can't reproduce your problem.
That aside, I have occasionally noticed wierd diagonal lines
using Xpmac. However, it's rare enough that I haven't bothered
to figure out how to fix it. My guess is that it's a bug in
the Mach 64 framebuffer code. If that's true, there's not much
that can be done (unless you actually try to fix the bug
yourself).
I haven't nocied the diagonal lines using XF68_FBDev; however,
as I explained on my page, I got weird redraw problem with
expose events, i.e., windows change stacking order such that
what was obscured in one window is now exposed, but the X
server wouldn't communicate the correct 'expose' event to the
window manager to redraw the exposed area properly. This
problem occurred MUCH more frequently than the other problem;
hence I'm using Xpmac.
