You need an adapter. Macs serial ports are round- one should have a
printer icon next to it, and one should have a modem icon next to it.

The serial adapter is easiest found if you get a Palm Pilot serial
"mac pack" (just don't get the usb palm adapter)

I have used a SE/30 running MacTerminal II as a dummy terminal with
Linux over serial port, so it is possible. That was back in the days
of MKLinux DR3 (on the 2.0 kernel), and its been a while since i did
it (and i don't remember how- David Gatwood i think it was who sent
my instructions, but I don't have that e-mail anymore)- but it is
possible.
