the funny thing about the xfree86 site is that it only deals with Intel
versions of xfree 86. I learned this the hard way when i got my
voodoo5500... no love for me yet( or possibly at all) on ppclinux.

Subject: XFree86 4.0.1 installation?

Hello all,

I currently have XFree86 3.3.6 installed with YDL 1.2 on my UMAX s900 w/ATI
XClaim VR (I believe this card uses the Mach64 driver). I'm wondering if
anyone who uses the Mach64 driver for their system has successfully
installed XFree86 4.0.1 from the sources available at
ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/4.0.1 ? According to the XFree86 4.x FAQ
at linuxppc.org ( http://linuxppc.org/usr/xf4/ ), accelerated Mach64 drivers
are not included in the 4.0.1 release, and the only option is to download
and install development drivers. But according to the XFree86 website,
Mach64 accelerated drivers are included in the 4.0.1 source (
http://www.xfree86.org/4.0.1/Status6.html#6 ). Any suggestions?
