Ever since I reinstalled ydl cs 1.2 on my g3 yosemite
(b&w), root can't access x windows...that includes kde
and windowmaker. i get the grey screen w/the cursor
and it sits there so i control command backspace and
jump out of x. i get an error that says
connection to ":0" refused by server
Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 ID=-1
this occurs ONLY for root...it doesn't occur for the
account i normally log in with which has default
access. i get other errors also such as when i try to
do stuff w/xlib such as
Xlib: connection to "unix:0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
error opening display (null).
but this occurs when i do an xterm and su to root.
which makes sense b/c root can't log into the x
server. also, whenever i run linuxconf (which is
hardly ever anymore b/c i'm learning to do stuff just
w/vi) i get an error when i exit that says error on
line 1 of resolv.conf. my resolv.conf file says
search
nameserver=216.178.151.2
nameserver=216.178.151.3
if anyone has any ideas on any of these 2 things
please let me know.
thanx in advance
