Let it be said now: I'm new to Linux, and could really use some help.

I've seen this problem posted a couple of times but never seen any
resolution to the problem posted. I have an 8500/120 with 96MB Ram, 2
internal SCSI drives (2G and 4G), and the original 4X cd-rom drive. Apart
from the one internal drive I added, nothing has changed from stock on this
thing, and it runs OS 9.0.4 without so much as a hiccup.

I get all the way through the partitioning (I've tried both drives, with
numerous partition sizes, but we'll say MOST of the time on average it's
been 128 or 192M swap, with the rest allocated to root), then reboot, launch
the installer again, mount the partitions as "/" and "swap partition," start
installing packages, and WHAM: no matter what packages I choose, it ALWAYS
hangs about 10MB into the install, the cursor blinks for a few seconds, then
disappears. I wish I knew where it went. The only thing I can do at that
point is restart (Command-Ctrl-Power) and try again. I've tried again about
40 times.

I'm sure it should work with my machine. Can anyone tell me what they think
I could be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Travis Hulsey
