I put a larger hard drive in my Rev B iMac.

Its a 10 gb Western Digital hand me down-
Booted off the OS 8.5 cd, did low level format, installed Mac OS-
wouldn't boot.

Rebooted off CD, made sure system folder was blessed, still no boot
(flashing ??). Zapped pram- still no boot.

My guess is something with this hard drive don't work with iMacs. I'm
not too upset- I don't trust western digitals (don't trust maxtor
either, and don't trust quantum- Seagate and IBM I like), but I'd
like to know from others with my iMac mobo (rev b, c, d) what hard
drives you've replaced yours with (a part number would be great) as I
don't want to put the 4 gb back in, and I only want to go back in
once.

I hat those little metal tabs on the bottom of the can that make the
drive somewhat difficult to remove...

Thanks for any advice!

Oh, yes- Linux is the OS for this iMac, so it is *somewhat* on topic.
