setclock. Running "date" sets the kernel clock; you lose that on
reboot unless you also update the hardware clock. So if the date is
going wonky on reboot, you probably aren't updating the hardware
clock.
I finally just put in a cron job to setclock once a night, so I
didn't have to remember.
