Jonathan,

Here's my fstab, fwiw:

/dev/hda11 / ext2 defaults 0 0
/dev/hde /cd iso9660 noauto,user 0 0

(i have a dir in root called "cd" which i use as a mount point for the
cdrom. you'd have to change this if you want it to mount elsewhere).

as for X, there's some good advice on getting X to work in the July
archives of the list on lists.yellowdog.com. I haven't gotten past the
gray screen with the X cursor centered. but, then, it appears YDL didn't
install KDE for whatever reason (it also didn't install a few other things
i explicitly checked during installation -- php, apache,x). i don't konow
what's up with that. if i could get a windowmanager configured, i might be
able to get somewhere.

Briefly, though, you have to install XF86(something)FBDev(something).rpm
from the cd to get X to work, and the trackpad is an adb mouse that you
get to using mouseconfig --noprobe. That's all I recall at the moment.

good luck!
