I've tried as well I'll comment on my successes and failures so far

I can get to the first blue screen (see below for how), but my USB chains
lose power (My hub lights while recieving power; goes out at usbcore stuff
on linux boot screen). I get numerous time-outs on hda; it seems to find
the mac HFS partition non-responsive.

Once it loses power on the USB chain, it then begins to generate device
not responding errors (Type -101) for all attached USB devices it's already
recognized.

Yaboot runs just fine on my iMacDVSE500. I found a page (Linked from Ben
H's, which is lineked to from YDL home.) Trick is remembering to do the
cmd-opt-o-f to get to the open firmware.

I was able to get the yaboot screen from the install CD by using the OF
prompt, rather than booting off the CD. Additionally, it likes this boot
better for me, and the keyboard works fine through yaboot.

I haven't grabbed ben's kernels yet. My machine has both Pro Keyboard and
Pro Mouse; the 2.2.15pre7 off the 1.2 CD DOES ID and accept until the
keyboard fails

haven't been able to talk to the installer... (see above), but I
consistently get there. The problem occurs with both the Pro and a
borrowed standard iMac keyboard.

Was wondering if I should try BenH's kernels, and if so, which?

YDL Tech tells me problem is my keyboard is not supported....
