Subject: Can Not install YDL 2 on iMac

I am new to Linux and I am trying to install YDL 2.0 on an iMac DV.
Here's what I've done so far:
1.Partitioned drive into 2 partitions; one has OS X on it and the other
is free space.
2.Booted up from the YDL 2.0 disc and began the installation program;
using the graphical interface.
3.Sub-partitioned the free space partition to hold the 3 Linux
partitions.
When I click "SAVE" in the box showing all the partitions, I get this error
message:
FATAL ERROR
OSError [Errno 17]File exists: '/tmp/root/etc/'
File "/usr/lib/yi/mount.py", line 505, in Write
os.mkdir (self.installPath+ '/etc/');
File "/usr/lib/yi/mount.py", line 335, in configure
return self.Write(face)
File "/usr/lib/yi/template.py", line 56, in_call_
return self.configure(args)
Then it asks to Continue (which it says may cause damage to your system)
Quit or Enter Python Debugger.
I've tried Continue and nothing seems to happen and I've tried Python
Debugger and everything seems to freeze.
Anybody know what's going on or seen this before.
