matt, that worked fine thanks, however the kernal load failed at the
next step, anyone got any suggestions?

kmode: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k usbdevfs, erno = 2
mounting /proc/bus/usb filesystem... failed

I can't recover from this.
