I installed Qpopper from Eudora:

I only needed a POP3 server. It just compiled and worked.
I don;t know about virtual hosts, tho.

AFAIK, SMTP has nothing to do with POP3: POP3 or IMAP is for
incoming (to the client) mail only; SMTP is for outgoing only.
