This problem might be related to virtual memory.
Only real difference between YDL and the other Linux distros is the
different Linux kernel.

I tried the SuSE 7.1 PPC (KDE 2.0.1) one and she's fast as LinuxPPC (KDE
2.1.1); but YDL 2.0 (KDE 2.1-10) is terribly slower compare to others
distros.
