Installation Trouble

Would it cause me trouble to have my 28Gig HD partitioned as follows:

12 GB for OS 9 HFS
8 GB for OS 10 HFS+
8 GB Unallocated for YDL

I noticed that it had problems formatting the 8GB allocation for YDL, and I
had to break it down to 2 4GB drives.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
