I got this too (DualG4/500). Do you have a zip or jaz drive? If so, put
disks in them to give the installer something to touch. I have an
internal scsi card and internal 2 gig jaz, usb zip and usb floppy. The zip
wasn't a factor, but I though the internal scsi hard drive was and that
was what I was originally installing YDL onto. I kept getting the above
errors.

When I put a jaz disk in my jaz drive, even though I didn't do any mount
points on it (but I did eventually create a /jaz mount for the drive) I
was able to not get that error.
