Hi All,

I am a complete Linux newbie and am trying to run my
first version of Linux on my desktop computer. I chose
to try Yellow Dog 2.0.

Here's what I've got:
iMac 350
384 meg RAM
30 gig HD, with a 4 gig partition for YDL, and the
rest running Mac OS 9.1
Dial up internet service
(many usb devices which I am not to concerned about,
yet.)

I've "successfully" installed YDL, I think. I went
through the entire process of installing everything
and making all my settings, but I am stopped at the
boot screen. I am supposed to have a graphical user
interface login screen, but I get text only. Then, I
log in, and it says "myusername)@localhost" and
nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Have I done
anything right? I am using yaboot and am not familiar
at all with the os.

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks a lot.

LW
