Hostname problem...

Whenever I startup, my hostname sets itself to
dns.majuki.com.majuki.com, which is causing a whole mess of problems.
I use the command "hostname newhostname", newhostname being the new
hostname. (On a whim I chose bigred as the new hostname.) However,
when I restart, the hostname goes back to dns.majuki.com.majuki.com.
What is causing this? Thanks.
