Subject: getting xmms and mol to share /dev/dsp

It is a constant fight between XMMS under YDL and MOL for the sound card
in my G4. I have XMMS using /dev/dsp (nothing else seems to work as an
output). If I have XMMS running, then MOL can't access sound and my MacOS
is silent. Same the other way around (MOL has sound, XMMS is unable to get
the sound).
How are others dealing with the sound sharing/fight issue?
