Switching to GNOME

I am a long-time Mac user who was introduced to the world of Unix through
Mac OS X. I just installed Yellow Dog on an old PowerMac I had around, to
teach myself more about Unix/Linux and to turn it back into a useful
machine.

From what I've seen about KDE and GNOME, though, I prefer GNOME. However, I
can't figure out how to tell my computer to use GNOME instead of KDE. Can
someone give me instructions? I want GNOME to be the default, instead of
KDE.

Thanks in advance,
Brian Mayton
