Hi,
I've been trying to install YDL 2.0 for quite some time now. Here
is my computer setup. I have a Maxtor 61 GB drive connected to a Sonnet
Ultra ATA card, 384 MB RAM and a OWC upgraded 333 Mhz processor. Bcos,
the HD is connected to the Sonnet the ydl installer doesn't see it with
the 2.2.x kernel supplied with ydl 2.0. So, i d/l a couple of 2.4.x
kernels from ppckernel.org and a link (olaf's) at penguinppc.org. With
these kernels, Linux detects the HD correctly (giving me the model
number at boot and assigned at /dev/hde i believe), but, it refuses to
load the installer. It halts saying
"VFS:Unable to mount root fs at 21:06"
It however detects the Ramdisk at block 0. I tried d/l a ramdisk
from olaf's page(link at penguinppc.org). This loads the installer but,
is however for suse. How, do i get yellowdog to work? I'm using bootx
1.2.3 with ramdisk size at 16384(default value). Any help greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

George
