I was having the same problem, infact i have made it so that i cant boot any
os. i get a flashing ? on a disk now and ive tried to get it to load mac os
from cd and linux from cd.

I did used to get the same problem you had, what i had to do and it took me
a while to realise is to drag the install folder from the cd to the desktop
in the mac os. then run bootx install then restart and let it go thru its
process and when it gets to bootx make sure you set the path under the
options button to that file on your desktop. then it will load linux install
without giving you a kernel error.

hope this helps
john

Hi!

I am very new to linux. Have tried to install YDL2 on
my G3-266 mac using 2 different CDs, none of which
worked :-(. I get different (!) error messages all the
time.

I am now trying to download the material from the net.
I have gone to the following site:
ftp://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/pub/yellowdog/iso/. There
are several files. Do I just simply drag all of them
to my hard drive, copy them to a CD and use the CD to
install ?

Thanks!

Tofigh
