I agree with you wholeheartedly on the sources vs. binaries issue, but why
oh why can't we copy the BSD ports method? That's probably the best way to
do it and it could easily be ported to Linux...

You know having a subscription method might not look like a bad idea after
all, I know I'd be more than willing to spend the money for bi-monthly
update CD's, and most organizations would do the same, no downloads, no
recertifications, and two months is more than enough to see if the latest
patch is stable or not. Terrasoft has had great marketing ideas on the past
(I think YDinside is a great way to distribute Linux for people who aren't
experienced enough to install it) and I think a subscription based service
would be the icing on the cake!
