I'm a total newbie so I don't know how I can help here other than
relating my experiences installing YDL 1.2 on a Lombard (Apple's
funky naming conventions with PBs make it useful to be specific about
which PB G3 you're using).

I haven't had a problem with it recognizing the keyboard, but it's
never recognized the trackpad. It fleetingly recognized the ArtZII
pad that I had hooked up via an iMate. Then it stop recognizing
that. That's a big ol' bummer considering that newbies would
probably do better in Xwindows than CLUI for starters...

If anyone has an URL for directions on how to update the kernel or
install drivers from the command line, I'd sure appreciate it. It's
much harder to get comprehensible guidance on Linux matters than on
Mac matters. :-/
