Ok--How can I do this? I can't see my MAC drives, I can't see my Zip drive,
I can't download from the Internet? So how can I get the new kernel to
where linux will see it. Or what is a straight forward way of mounting an
internal ATAPI zip drive on YDL. Or should I just burn the kernel upgrade
on a cd and then mount the cd? Any suggestions would be great.

You will probably have to compile your own kernel using the 2.4test tree
as your network card isn't supported in the 2.2.x series of kernels
AFAIK. This web site should help you out:
