IIRC, you don't "make bzimage" on PPC architectures, that's only for X86
architectures, so even if it succeeded, Linux probably won't boot anyway. If
it's one of the BenH kernels, post a message on the LinucPPC user list with
the kernel version (include BenH) in the subject line. I know that Ben
watches that list and often responds to problems with his kernels.

Also, make sure you are rsyncing the *stable* tree, and not the development
tree.
