Hello List,
I'm attempting to make my iMac 350Mhz display X in 800x600. No matter what I
try, it defaults to 1024x768...for me, way too tiny on a 14" display.
Currently, there's not a mention of 1024x768 in my XF86Config-4 file.
I've run fbset 800x600-100 and gotten a readable 800x600 console, then:
Ran Xconfigurator to autogen a XF86Config-4 that 'looks' ok, but still
displays at 1024x768.
Modeline:
Modeline "800x600" 67.490 800 806 870 1080 600 607 611 625 +HSync +VSync
I also ran fbset -x and got:
Mode "800x600"
# D: 67.490 MHz, H: 62.491 kHz, V: 99.985 Hz
DotClock 67.491
HTimings 800 870 934 1080
VTimings 600 601 605 625
Flags "+HSync" "+VSync" # Warning: XFree86 doesn't support accel
EndMode
Which I also tried. Additionally, I attempted removing ALL modelines from my
config file. Still 1024x768.
I fooled around with appends in my yaboot.conf:
append="video=aty128fb:vmode:11,cmode:24" to no avail.
iMac 350Mhz
256Mb RAM
ATI Rage 128 video
YDL 2.1
Thanks for any help,
Jeff Elkins
