.ttf files are .ttf files, they are (as far as windows is concerned)
version agnostic. I typically just add /mnt/dos/windows/fonts to my
fontpath in X and run happily (well.. something things choke but 1400
fints will do that :)
MacOS fonts are different becasue the font files have a different
structure. There a several mac utilites that will convert a mac fint file
into a ttf file (and vice versa) which you may want to try. I'v e never
had too much luck with them though.
