Subject: fsck.ext2 problems during boot.

Greetings,

We have recently installed the 2.4.10-12a smp kernel on 8 G4s running
YDL 2.0. All works magically well, except for a problem which occurs on
all 8 boxes intermittently during boot.

While booting, the following error occurs:

fsck.ext2 for device /dev/hda12 exited with signal 4.

It then gives the normal prompt to enter the root password for
maintenance, or Control-D for normal startup (which reboots the machine).

Often, just rebooting will fix the problem. At times, a sytem will not
boot properly until rebooted several times. This happens about every
other reboot on all 8 systems.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,

ph.
