OK. Solved my problem. DUH! I said for the options for my second drive
in /etc/fstab "default" instead of "defaults".
It is working fine even though I have no partitions on this 2nd drive.
Finally everything works with the new drive. Thanks for all the help.
Now I have to spend an hour trying to get the box to communicate with my
cheapo cable/dsl router to get on the net and get an IP address... ug...
this is why I leave the box on all the time.
