Hello,

I am using mozilla 0.9.7 under ydl, and I can't send newsmessages to the
newsgroups I subscribed to.

I always get the error message:
A News (NNTP) Error occured: Posting failed (Authentication failed for
user: 0!)

This I don't understand.

So some questions:
- Is a newsmessage normally sent via our smtp server or via the nntp
server ?
- I checked with my cable provider. Their website (which has quite
comprehensive setup information) doesn't mention any authentication is
needed. But I also tried to send a message using KJournal, and that only
worked if I explicitely set a username and password. Does that mean that
my provider suddenly does need a password then ?
- If this is so, how can I set this up in mozilla ?

I already tried to define a new outgoing server (using my nntp server)
wich requires authentication, but nothing changed.

Help/pointers appreciated.

Geert
