Well, it simply didn't work on my Lombard until I did what I
said even though I followed all the other directions. As soon
as I made the change as I described above, it worked. I;m
fairly convinced that Lombard Powerbooks are a special case.
Among other things, it's a new-world machine, but BootX works.

Did you actually try to install yaboot as is described in the
YDL instructions specifically on a Lombard Powerbook? I'm sure
the instructions as documented work fine on newr machines like
        Pismos and iMacs.

Yes. Minor example, first under HARDWARE:

Q: Running X Windows on the new iMac DVs

        That's not a question.

Three (BootX, yaboot, System Disk) aren't very many.

Uhm... probably the majority of Linux users /are/ power users
to begin with. That aside, just because many /can/ spend hours
tinkering and getting things to work does /not/ mean that's how
they'd like to spend their time. Personally, I have more
        important things to do.

It wasn't meant to be offensive. It was meant to be
        constructive criticism.

I think boot methods in general are fairly important. If you
        can't boot, nothing else matters.

Also, yaboot is just plain ugly. I'd rather have a nice, easy,
graphical boot loader than something like, say, YUP. I can
        install RPMs myself.
