Subject: How do you stop yp from looking...

Hello,
I blundered and called up a "yp update" before I've managed to connect
to the outside world and now whenever I start up the system or go to do
anything basically, I get the error message that yp can't complete what
it's doing (sorry, not verbatim quote of the error, doing it from memory...).
How does one go about killing this attempt, i.e. what directory is
storing the request that keeps getting called for this?
