Subject: Has anyone sucessfully booted YDL with a MAXpowr G3-L2B?

Hi everyone,
I've managed to install YDL on my Umax c-500 by disabling the Newertech
MAXpowr G3-L2B upgrade, but I would like to run with the upgrade working.
The upgrade loads before BootX, and I used the PowerLogix Cache Control to
give the L2CR to Bootx. Before I did that the linux boot process did not get
beyond
arch: exit
Now it goes farther, but trouble starts with
Checking Partitions:
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0: hda: lost interrupt
continues with
scsi: device set offline - command error recover failed: host1 channel0
id0 lun0
This continues up the scsi id chain to id 6. Then, a little later, I get
adb: starting probe task...
ds: no socket drivers loaded!
and still later,
ide_pmac_dmaproc: chipset supported ide_dma_lostirq func only 13
hda: lost interrupt
which keeps repeating ad infinitum (or until a forced restart.)
On the other hand, things seem to go ok if I disable the MAXpowr upgrade,
except the system doesn't recognize my SMC-9432TX PCI eternet card. I found
an epic100.c for a driver and can probably manage to create an epic100.o,
but then I don't know what to do with it. (I'm pretty new to linux, in case
that's not obvious.)
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Del
