Matthieu:

I have the same iMac model as you do. I'm surprised you had problems
with YDL 2.1 installing as it went very well here on my iMac.The ANS700
I'm currently logged into was a different story :).

The problem is not your setup but is the 2.4.x kernel you're using.I had
the same inability to use my modem and am (for now) stuck with the
2.2.19 kernel. There apparently is a problem how certain initialization
timings occur with respect to the iMac internal modem. The problems is
known, but I can't seem to find anyone that can tell me which modem
registers need modified, by what values, and where the init strings are
stored so you can have pppd automagically bring the link up on boot.

Please let me know if you find out anything.

Pat
