Subject: Server is running atalk but doesn't appear in chooser

I tried using appletalk (using netatalk-1.5pre7-0, installed using 'rpm -U'), but when I start it up, I get the following:
[root@9500 /root]#service atalk start
Starting AppleTalk services:
Starting atalkd: [ OK ]
Registering 9500:Workstation: nbp_rgstr: Connection timed out
Can't register 9500:Workstation@*
[FAILED]
Registering 9500:netatalk: nbp_rgstr: Connection timed out
Can't register 9500:netatalk@*
[FAILED]
Starting papd: [ OK ]
Starting afpd: [ OK ]
Also, after Appletalk has started up, the machine doesn't show up in the chooser, although I can connect to it using the chooser's "Server IP Address" button.
So, should I be concerned about these failures on startup, and if so, how can I fix them. Secondly, how do I make my machine show up in the chooser of another Mac running MacOS?
