.. but, looking up netatalk on rpmfind.net turned up a YDL package of
netatalk 1.5.0.
Download that and then, as root, do rpm -Uvh newpackagename.ppc.rpm That
should be all you need to do.
If the upgrade fails, removing the old version could be as simple as (as
root) rpm -e netatalk unless there are package dependencies. You can then
install a new version with rpm -ivh newpackagename.ppc.rpm
