I would suggest trying this.
Get into Linux the way that works and then run ybin as root.
That may solve your problem.
Look over the /etc/yaboot.conf file to make sure it looks good first.
(ie says MAC OS and Linux are on the correct partitions etc.)
If it says defaultos=MacOS, then maybe it chose the default before
you got to type the L. (?)
Anyway ybin takes care of moving stuff to the hfs boot partition and I
think it also takes care of open firmware settings as well.
