I can't get my domain name server setting right. I am using IPNetRouter
(sustworks) on OS8.6 as the router for my cable access. It has DNS
Forwarding on, all the macs on the network work fine. I only have one
Ethernet card, so I've it set to static IP only.

I am online with my Linux Box (YDL on PM 7200/120). I was able to FTP from
netscape by using their IP address from the shell, and within KDE I run
mozilla and can pull up pages by IP address, but not by URL.

My /etc/resolv.conf is:

search localdomain
nameserver 192.168.111.1

/etc/sysconfig/network is:

NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=localhost.localdomain
FORWARD_IPV4=no
DEFRAG_IPV4=no
GATEWAY=192.168.111.1
GATEWAYDEV=eth0
NISDOMAIN=
IPX=no
IPXAUTOPRIMARY=off
IPXAUTOFRAME=off
IPXINTERNALNETNUM=
IPXINTERNALNODENUM=

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 is:

NAME=localhost
DEVICE=eth0
IPADDR=192.168.111.4
BOOTPROTO=
ONBOOT=yes
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY=192.168.111.1

Also, is any of you in the LA area and part of the LULA? I am thinking of
taking this Linux box to Sunday's install-fest at Midnight Special books,
but have had no Mac response from the user list.
