I have a USB VST SmartDisk floppy and an Imation USB floppy which work
just fine on my 500Mhz Imac, 500Mhz TiPowerbook and 733Mhz G4. I'm
using a 2.4 series kernel which I compiled to include support for my
keyspan usa28xb serial port device (the out of the box kernels didn't
support that correctly), I may have had to set things up for usb
filesystems too but I can't remember off hand.
