A caveat on the suggestion on the YDL site to place YDL in front of any Mac OS partitions:
It won't work with OSX on certain machines, mine being one of them, of course.

The OSX installer can't see past the first 8GB on the drive.
OS 9.x does not have this problem, and OSX can see partitions past 8GB once installed, so it looks like the limit (bug) is in the installer.
