like I said, I'm basically already doing that, on a 601 machine, to ensure
backwards compatability, using the same rc structure and whatnot as
slackware, I'm just not using official slackware sources to do it, I just
don't know how the hell to code in C or ncurses, so the installer needed to
make this a real distro is a little beyond me =]

i think i may have mentioned it in an earlier post... but i stupidly gave my
mac away for a pc so that i could run linux. i was so discouraged from the
fact that i couldnt get the darned imac internal modem working :(
i fealt complete and shame at the loss of one of my newborn children and for
days it had gnawed at my stomache. now, i must rejoice, for my child has
returned!! the fool who wanted to use it has given up as he cannot figure
out how to work it!! huzzah!
my mac is back (soon) and im going to be even more determined to get this
thing online with linux. if anyone ever got their imac internal modem to
work with YDL please let me know how you did it and what you did to get it
going.
i'm also going to embark on a quest to get everyone's favourite linux distro
(mine anyways) slackware, onto a mac and create install scripts and slap it
on a cd-r. anyone interested in this venture?
