Well I just finished installing these binaries. They are a pain in the arse!

Here's were I'm at so far.
The rpms install pretty nicely with no major problems.
I'm using kernel 2.4.10 (YDL 2.1 default), but DRI does not load as the r128 driver is too old (2.1.6 but needs >2.2)
I went and grabed the newest DRM drivers, compiled the r128 driver and enabled dri.
As of right now anytime I launch an Xv app (xine) X locks forcing me to hard reboot. I thought this was the biggest fix they made to the ATI drivers? What gives here. I did notice a nice speed improvement when switching to 16 bit mode though. I think I'm gonna play with these packages a bit more and see what happens. Worst case is I'll stick with the 4.1 yellow dog release packages.
